SVDK board Please not that SVDK will be discontinued by Sensor to Image Q4-1027. For a new design start we recommend to use MVDK, which extends the FPGA use to newer FPGA chips as other FPGA vendors. MVDK is available up from Q4-2017 directly trough Sensor to Image and our world wide sales partners.

As FPGA as standards get more complex over the years, we thought it would be good to have a complete kit to start a new application on standard machine vision interfaces. Based on the new ZYNQ family from XILINX here is the solution called SVDK: smart vision development kit, which can give to you:

  • interface for CMOS and CCD sensors with parallel and serial interfaces at up to 1GBit/channel directly into PL of ZYNQ 7015
  • HDMI output from PL for full HD monitor interface
  • GEN<I>CAM compliant interfaces of: GEV, U3V and CXP
  • GigEVision = GEV at 1GBit, DEVICE and HOST from PS and PL
  • USB3Vision = U3V at 5GBit DEVICE with CYPPRESS FX3
  • CoaXPress = CXP at 6.25GBit, DEVICE and HOST from 7015 transceiver
  • LINUX OS for ARM CPU with USB-OTG
  • RS232, some pins for basic FPGA and application debugging and Windows based GenAPI viewer software
  • available in cooperation with AVNET worldwide for a very reasonable price

Sensor to Image has done the hardware design on the base board and will do reference design for all GEN<I>CAM hardware interface on the kit, which are available after registration  for free download at Sensor to Image SVDK support website. Today these designs are ready:

  • GEV DEVICE with APTINA AR0134 in a 30min time limited version. This is the default application for SVDK ordered from AVNET website
  • U3V DEVICE with APTINA AR0134 in a 30min time limited version. This design is provided after SVDK production registration by download from Sensor to Image website
  • HALCON Embedded trial in a 30min time limited version. This design is provided after SVDK production registration by download from Sensor to Image website
  • ... more to come

Please understand that we give no support by mail/phone for the product delivered directly by AVNET. As soon as you have the product in your hand, get registered with both valid serial numbers for SVDK and we will include you in a dedicated mailing list. With this mailing list we will offer centralized webcasts or training courses every quarter of the year, which are included in the standard delivery. If full core versions are needed, please get in contact with us to work on your individual support and delivery plan.
